What is Type 2 Diabetes? Type 2 Diabetes is a condition that affects the way a person’s body breaks down glucose, better known as sugar. This form of Diabetes can affect adults and children alike.

What causes Type2 Diabetes? Type 2 Diabetes is caused by the pancreas making an overproduction of insulin, to get sugar or what is called glucose, into the cells. When the pancreas can’t keep up with the production, the sugar then builds up in the blood, causing Type 2 Diabetes. Other causes of Type 2 Diabetes are sometimes an increase in weight gain and too much sugar from the liver.  To prevent both of these causes from occurring, one might incorporate a lifestyle change that includes weight management, by incorporating exercise and eating healthy and dietary supplements to assist in normalizing blood glucose.

These three things could help to manage Type 2 Diabetes and in some instances reverse the diagnosis. Below are a few supplements that can be used to either manage Type 2 Diabetes naturally or in some cases reverse the diagnosis. Though the supplements below can lower blood sugar for diabetics, diet and exercise are always a good first line of defense as a preventative measure against Type 2 Diabetes. Another great preventative measure would be to get the book, Reversing Diabetes, by Julian Whitaker M.D. This book is filled with important information concerning which foods are diabetic friendly and recipes.

Chromium Picolinate: This trace mineral helps to normalize and sometimes lower the blood sugar of those diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes.

Ceylon Cinnamon: This species of the cinnamon family can also normalize or lower the blood sugar of someone with Type 2 Diabetes. This cinnamon can be taken in capsule form or sprinkled on food, to normalize blood sugar.

Psyllium Husk: Psyllium husk is a type of fiber that helps to normalize or lower blood sugar. It can be taken in powdered form or in a capsule form. It is recommended you drink plenty of water when using psyllium husk to avoid constipation.
